Savant on Dr. King

We must reject capitalism as did both Martin and Malcolm. Dr. King rejected the Right, or conservatism completely, and was skeptical and rejectionist toward mainstream liberalism as well. Folk who read Dr. King's WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? know that he argued that while the liberal coalition which was useful to some extent in the early phase of the Civil Rights Movement would not be useful in the more radical phase where a radical, structural social transformation was called for. Once we MOVED FROM civil rights to human rights a new kind of coalition would be needed. And King was right. Not only the Right, but the so called liberals (white and black) began to oppose him when he opposed the imperialism and militarism made manifest in the Vietnam War, and when he sought to organize a Poor Peoples campaign to help bring about "a radical redistribution of political and economic power."
